The men's and women's hoops teams won the Big Ten, the third Division I schoolthat has won a conference in those sports and in football the same year. Saidcenter Terence Dials after OSU (and J.J. Sullinger, left) clinched its firstoutright title since '92, "People across the country forgot about theBuckeyes."

TheBlue Devils women got upset too, falling to Maryland for the first time in 15games. Coach Gail Goestenkors's silver lining: "Every time we've lost,we've learned."

While former Hokie Marcus Vick pleaded guilty to two traffic violations--hiscourt date for allegedly brandishing a firearm is next week--his potentialheir, 18-year-old freshman Ike Whitaker, was arrested and charged withpurchasing and possessing alcohol.

The U.S.'s best player in the 2004 Olympics was not invited to try out for the2008 team, and G.M. Jerry Colangelo deepened the diss by implying he was afterteam players and that AI isn't one. Said Pacer Jermaine O'Neal, "How canyou not invite one of the world's top five or 10 players? That'smind-boggling."

Be glad you weren't Björn yesterday. The tennis star is auctioning fiveWimbledon trophies and two of his wood rackets and denying a comment that he'sdoing it for "financial security." Borg said he just "thought thetrophies and rackets might be something that someone might want tohave."
