The Questions with Chris Duncan

Cardinals Leftfielder
October 15, 2006

What was yourwelcome-to-the-big-leagues moment?

Hitting the lasthomer at the old Busch Stadium [as a September call-up] last year. I didn't getany hits there before that. So, when I finally hit it, I said, "Holycow."

Most embarrassingmoment?

When I dropped myfirst pop-up, playing leftfield in Colorado. Right to me, and I goofed it. Itwas the easiest fly ball ever.

One thing aboutbeing a major leaguer that fans don't think about?

It's stressful,because if you don't perform, you're gone.

If I werecommissioner for a day, I'd ...

eliminate the DH.The National League's a way better game. There's more strategy by the managers, and it's a lot more fun. If you're a bench player, you've constantly got to beready. In the AL, if you're not starting, it's just boring.

If I weren'tplaying baseball, I'd ...

be in trouble. Ididn't go to [college]. I kind of sold out going for this.
