Snow Game Today
Indians righty Paul Byrd started the home opener at Jacobs Field last Friday, but the game against the Mariners was called in the top of the fifth. The entire four-game series with Seattle was postponed by snow (inset), and Cleveland's three-game set with the Angels starting on Tuesday was moved to Milwaukee, where a warm, covered stadium was waiting.

When the dust settled, A's first baseman Nick Swisher had advanced safely from second to third on a fly ball in the ninth inning of an April 3 game against the Mariners at Safeco Field. Swisher failed to make it the rest of the way home, however, and Oakland lost 8--4.

Alexander the Grand
The Yankees gave oft-booed Alex Rodriguez (center) a happy homecoming after he blasted a ninth-inning grand slam (inset) to defeat the Orioles 10--7 last Saturday in New York. The shot to deep centerfield was only the eighth walk-off slam in the team's 105-year history.
