May 27, 2007

Baseball
Sweet-swinging rookie Hunter Pence has helped turn Houston's season around • Will the struggling Cardinals put third baseman Scott Rolen on the trading block?

Track and Field
At the first major outdoor meet of the season, the next generation of stars looked primed for the 2008 Olympics already • Catching up with some of the old-timers

NASCAR
Super sophomore Denny Hamlin is prepping to make a Cup charge • Juan Pablo Montoya is quickly wearing out his welcome • Cashing in on Bill Elliott's old championships

MOTION PICTURE Slowing the camera's shutter speed made fireballing Diamondbacks lefty Randy Johnson even more of a blur than he normally appears to the crowd. Johnson gave up only one hit to the Rockies in six innings, getting his first win of the season, 3--0, at Coors Field on May 15. He was out until late April following back surgery.
