THE QUESTIONS WITH Brad Wilkerson

RANGERS / OUTFIELDER
June 17, 2007

What was your welcome-to-the-big-leagues moment?
Being introduced for my first game. I was called up to Montreal at the All-Star break in 2001. My parents came from Kentucky to enjoy it with me. Then I went 0 for my first 10 at bats.

What was your most embarrassing moment?
A few years ago, in front of 50,000 fans at Dodger Stadium, I was on first and I thought there were two outs when there was only one. While they were throwing the ball to first [after a fly out], I kept running. I had my head down rounding third.

If I weren't playing baseball, I'd be ...
involved in soccer. I played in high school, and I follow the English Premier League. My favorite team has been Liverpool since I was a kid.

If I were commissioner for a day I'd ...
like the pitcher to hit [in the American League]. It gives you more strategy. I was a pitcher in college [Florida].

LAST WEEK
Wilkerson came off the DL (hamstring) and went 1 for 9 against the Brewers.

THIS WEEK
The Rangers travel to Cincinnati. Wilkerson, 30, is batting .354 lifetime against the Reds.
