Is McNabb ThisYear's Culpepper?
"INJURY,SCHMINJURY" seemed to be the consensus about Daunte Culpepper going into2006. Knee damage (three torn ligaments) from the previous season wasn't aboutto get in the way of a stellar year, so cocksure fantasy owners draftedCulpepper around the fifth round. But four games, 21 sacks and just two TDslater, Culpepper was on Miami's bench, wishing he hadn't rushed his return. Hisexample should raise doubts about Donovan McNabb, who is the same age asCulpepper and has had virtually the same time to rehab from a comparableinjury. Sure, McNabb looked good in his first preseason action, but Culpepper's2006 preseason, in which he had a 93.5 passer rating, turned out to beterribly misleading. McNabb's massive upside is tempting, but so wasCulpepper's. If you select Donovan McNabb, DRAFT A GOOD BACKUP.
