Collins, 24, won the overall title at the International Triathlon Union WorldChampionship in Hamburg, Germany, finishing the short course triathlon in1:57:16, more than a minute faster than the second-place finisher, AndrewCurtayne. In June he won the USA Triathlon national title.

Ericson, a senior outside hitter at Nevada, was named the American VolleyballCoaches Association's national player of the week after leading the Wolf Packto wins over Fresno State and Utah State. In those two matches she had a .433hitting percentage and averaged 6.33 kills and 6.67 points.
