Jose Fulgencio
BRONX > Baseball
Fulgencio, a senior shortstop at New Jersey City University, had a 40-game hitting streak, the longest in any NCAA divisions, and a 50-game streak in which he reached base safely. During the hitting streak he had multiple hits in 24 games and batted .452. He has hit safely in 57 of 60 career games.

Kiara Redmond-Sturms
LOS ANGELES > Gymnastics
Redmond-Sturms, a senior at Oklahoma, scored a 9.95 on the vault in her final routine of the Big 12 championship to clinch a conference title for the Sooners. She also won the floor exercise at the meet (9.9) and was named Big 12 gymnast of the year. She won 10 all-around titles in OU's undefeated season.

RALEIGH > Track and Field
Wayne, a junior at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High, set a national record in the 55-meter hurdles (7.06 seconds) and tied the 60 hurdles mark (7.62) at the Nike indoor nationals. Last spring he set a sophomore record in the 110 hurdles (13.65) at the Nike outdoor nationals.

Nneka Ogwumike
CYPRESS, TEXAS > Basketball
Nneka, a senior forward at Cy-Fair High, averaged 18.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.5 steals to lead the Bobcats to a 39--2 record and their first Class 5A title; she was named Gatorade's national player of the year and its Texas player of the year, the latter for the second time. She has committed to Stanford.

Nate Jimerson
APPLE VALLEY, MINN. > Swimming and Diving
Jimerson, a junior at St. Cloud State, won Division II titles in the one-and three-meter dives. A six-time All-America, he was named national male diver of the year and is a three-time North Central Conference diver of the year. He has never finished lower than fourth at an NCAA meet.

WAYNE, N.J. > Fencing
Jessica, a junior at Wayne Valley High, had a 28--3 record and won the New Jersey title in girls' saber. A two-time Passaic County champion, she has 87 career wins and took seventh place in the Cadet World Cup in Poland last year.
