SALEM, N.H. > Basketball and Volleyball
Daniel, a senior at Salem High, went a combined 121--3 in the two sports. An All-America outside hitter, he led the volleyball team to four Class L titles and a national-record 74-match winning streak; at forward he averaged 9.1 points and 9.3 rebounds and led the basketball team to two titles and 32 straight wins.

SPRINGFIELD, ILL. > Track and Field
Demarcus, a senior at Southeast High, is the first Illinois sprinter to win three Class AA titles in the 100 meters, and he was the only double winner at this year's meet. After battling injuries all season, he ran the 100 in 10.68 seconds—he won it in 10.57 in 2007—and the 200 in 21.37.

ALEDO, TEXAS > Softball
Whitney, a senior lefthanded pitcher at Aledo High, went 31--0 with an ERA of 0.07 (two earned runs in 198 innings) and 382 strikeouts to lead the Ladycats to a 38-1-1 record, the Class 4A championship and the No. 1 ranking in USA Today's national poll.

Kelsey Hatcher
LITTLE ROCK > Basketball, Soccer and Track and Field
Kelsey, a senior at Central Arkansas Christian, won 11 state titles in her high school career: four track and field, four soccer, two basketball and one cross-country. She was named all-state at least once in each sport. She scored 1,518 career points in basketball and will play at Oklahoma State.

LANDISVILLE, PA. > Baseball
Dornes, a sophomore outfielder-pitcher at Rochester Institute of Technology, was Empire 8 player of the year for the second time. This season he was second in the league in RBIs (37), fourth in slugging (.583), fifth in HRs (5, tied) and sixth in average (.386). He was 3--2 with a 2.82 ERA and four walks in 51 innings.

Courtney Kirkwood
OTHELLO, WASH. > Track and Field
Courtney, a senior at Othello High, won her third Class 2A javelin title and holds the state record (160'10"). She also won the 100 hurdles this spring (14.79) and last year's long jump (16'10"). She is a two-time Gatorade state track and field athlete of the year.
