Abby, a freshman goalkeeper at Shepton High, allowed just one goal in nine games to lead her under-15 club, the Dallas Texans, to the Gothia Cup in Göteborg, Sweden, prevailing in a pool of 140 international teams. The Texans qualified by winning May's Manchester United Nike Premier Cup.

Mexicano, a senior shortstop at Illinois, broke Big Ten records for home runs (24) and total bases (160) in a season and set school career records for homers (51), RBIs (164), runs (167), total bases (415) and slugging percentage (.597). The Akron Racers picked her in the third round of the National Pro Fastpitch draft.

Marshall Musil
LA CROSSE, KANS. > Football
Marshall, a senior fullback and linebacker at La Crosse High, had two TD runs, a point after, eight tackles, a sack and two punts in a 27--0 win over Trinity. Last year he ran 87 times for 745 yards, caught 13 passes for 283 yards and scored 16 TDs. He has been all-state twice.

Ty Lang
VANCOUVER, WASH. > Track and Field
Lang, a graduate of Heritage High, won Class 4A championships in the 100 (10.82) and 200 (21.67) meters and finished fifth in the long jump (22'2 1/2") in what was his first year of track and field. He scored 24 of his school's 50 points as the Timberwolves won the state title. He is a freshman at Spokane Community College.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CALIF. > Baseball
Alan, an eighth-grader at Arroyo Vista Middle School, hit a record 14 home runs in nine games in an under-12 Cooperstown All-Star Village baseball tournament. A first baseman and pitcher, he batted .714 (20 of 28) with 26 RBIs and in one stretch hit homers in 11 of 13 at bats.

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA. > Soccer
Shelnutt, a freshman forward at Furman and a graduate of Frederica Academy, scored seven goals in the state final as the Lady Knights won their third title in four years. She broke the Georgia high school record for goals in a season (68) and a career (211).
