I know that darts is not a game that has taken off that majorly in the States, but I'm in Britain this winter and have become obsessed with watching the World Darts Championship. I find it extraordinary that the game requires a great deal of skill and artistry—and yet seems to require you to be as fat as you possibly can be from drinking beer. The image of these not-exactly-sportsmen playing this beautiful game with absolute precision and tiny margins for error is incongruous. But it is fantastic to watch. It seems the fatter the man, the better the darts.
