Ryan Helms

MOULTRIE, GA. > Diving

Helms, a sophomore at Tennessee, was unbeaten in the one-meter and three-meter springboard events in each of his first four meets this season, helping the Volunteers to a 4--0 start. He was the SEC diver of the week three straight weeks. His eight individual wins were one shy of his regular-season total in 2008--09, when he was SEC freshman diver of the year.

Adrianna Franch

SALINA, KANS. > Soccer

Franch, a freshman goalie at Oklahoma State, had 16 saves in three games at the Big 12 tournament, including seven in a 1--0 win over Texas A&M in the championship game. In addition to being an all-tournament selection, she was named all-conference and led the Big 12 in shutouts (10), goals-against average (0.63) and save percentage (.837).

Mark McDonagh

RIVERSIDE, ILL. > Football

Mark, a senior wideout at Riverside-Brookfield High, broke the Illinois High School Association record (132) and the National Federation of State High School Associations record (138) for single-season receptions in a 42--0 win over Elmwood Park. He finished the year with 165 catches in 10 games for 1,492 yards and eight touchdowns.

Ashley Wittman

SHAKOPEE, MINN. > Volleyball

Ashley, a senior outside hitter at Shakopee High, had 34 kills in a 3--1 win over Wayzata in the state Class 3A championship game, leading the Sabers to their third straight title. Ashley finished the season with a team-high 569 kills, plus a second-best 294 digs, for unbeaten Shakopee (32--0). She has signed to play volleyball at Minnesota.

AJ Hull

KENAI, ALASKA > Football

AJ, a sophomore quarterback at Kenai Central High, passed for 147 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 71 yards and a TD to help the Kardinals to a 21--10 win over three-time defending champion Soldotna for the state small school title. Named MVP of the game, he was also all-state after passing for 26 touchdowns and leading Kenai Central to a 10--1 record.

Barbara Pierre

WINTER HAVEN, FLA. > Cross-country

Pierre, a senior at Saint Augustine's, won the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association cross-country championship in 20:10.6, helping the Falcons tie Bowie State for the team title. Pierre, who competed for her native Haiti in the 100 meters at the 2008 Olympics (advancing to the quarterfinals), was the NCAA Division II 100-meter outdoor champion in '07 and '08.
