The race for national player of the year is over. Kentucky's John Wall has been terrific, but no player does more to help his team win than Ohio State's Evan Turner(below). He had 18 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four blocks in the Buckeyes' win over Michigan last Saturday.... Notre Dame is making a valiant closing argument for inclusion in the Big Dance. After Luke Harangody injured his knee, the Irish went 2--2 with wins over No. 16 Pittsburgh and at No. 13 Georgetown, improving to .500 in Big East play.... The Atlantic 10 at-large candidates are fading. Charlotte and Rhode Island each suffered its fourth loss in five games last weekend at George Washington and St. Bonaventure, respectively, to put them on the wrong side of the bubble.
