Breaking Ball

This is an article from the April 12, 2010 issue

Red Sox DH David Ortiz lost most of his good wood on a sixth-inning groundout at Fenway Park on Sunday. While Big Papi was 0 for 3 against the Yankees on opening night, Boston won the seesaw game 9--7 by scoring three runs in the seventh and another in the eighth.

Moto Op

Grant Snow was photographed by a remote camera mounted on his handlebars as he performed a jump on Sunday during the Rocky Valley motocross weekend outside Mudgee, Australia. Rocky Valley is a private farm in New South Wales at which motocross riders aspiring to pro careers can practice on dedicated freestyle ramps and purpose-built tracks.

Haye Maker

David Haye of the United Kingdom demonstrated the might in his right to John Ruiz of the U.S. during their WBA heavyweight championship fight in Manchester, England, last Saturday night. Haye won his first title defense by knocking Ruiz down four times before the challenger's corner threw in the towel in the ninth round.
