Palee Myrex

BREMEN, ALA. > Track and Field

Palee, a senior at Cold Springs High, won the state Class 2A 1,600- (5:27.74) and 3,200-meter (12:04.78) races for the fourth consecutive year and won her third straight 800 (2:23.13). In 2006 and '08 Palee was the 1A-2A cross-country champion, and she led the Eagles to the state basketball title in '08 and '09. Palee will run for Alabama.

Kawika Shoji

HONOLULU > Volleyball

Shoji, a senior setter at Stanford, had 47 assists, 10 digs, three blocks and two kills as the Cardinal defeated Penn State three sets to none in the Division I championship match. The AVCA Division I-II national player of the year, Shoji shared All-America honors with his brother and teammate, Erik, a sophomore libero, for the second straight season.

Sarie Morrison

DALLAS > Gymnastics

Sarie, a senior at Lake Highlands High, won the all-around competition (78.175) at the state meet for the third straight year, helping the Wildcats to the team title. The next day she swept the individual events: bars (9.925), beam (9.850), floor exercise (9.900) and vault (9.875). Sarie will compete for LSU.

Lorenzo Cava

QUITO, ECUADOR > Tennis

Cava, a senior at Bentley, was named the Northeast-10 Conference player of the year, then led the Falcons to the conference tournament title. He finished the season with records of 26--1 in singles and 18--5 in doubles. Cava also received the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Division II Arthur Ashe Jr. Award for sportsmanship and leadership.

Michelle Morris

LA CAÑADA, CALIF. > Equestrian

Morris, a sophomore at Georgia, helped the Bulldogs win the Varsity Equestrian national championships by 24.5 points, beating Texas A&M's Elizabeth Solch by 30 points in Equitation on the Flat during a sudden-death ride-off. Morris, who went 16-5-1 in the Flat during the season, also won the individual title in the event.

Ashton Eaton and Brianne Theisen

BEND, ORE., AND HUMBOLDT, SASK. > Track and Field

Eaton, a senior at Oregon, and Theisen, a junior, defended their Pac-10 decathlon (8,154) and heptathlon titles (5,917), respectively. Both are reigning NCAA champs; Eaton holds the world indoor heptathlon record (6,499).
