Ghana Getcha

Uruguay's Andres Scotti (19) and Ghana's Kevin-Prince Boateng contested a ball during last Friday's World Cup quarterfinal in Johannesburg. After Ghana missed a penalty kick in extra time, Uruguay won the shootout to knock the last remaining African team from the tournament.

Arriva-Derby

Spectators packed the Piazza del Campo in the Tuscan city of Siena last Friday for the Palio di Provenzano, in which riders representing the city's wards race bareback around a treacherous dirt-covered cobblestone track. The winner receives a silk banner depicting the Madonna and child.

Shack Attack

Recognizable by the determination on his face if not by the colors of his new team, RadioShack, Lance Armstrong set off on the prologue of this year's Tour de France, an 8.9-kilometer time trial through Rotterdam in Holland. The seven-time Tour winner finished fourth.
