PEORIA, ILL. > Swimming

Matt, a senior at Richwoods High, won the 100- (1:04.70) and 200-meter (2:22.53) breaststroke, the 200 butterfly (2:13.11), and the 200 (2:11.39) and 400 (4:36.91) individual medleys in the boys' open division at the Clayton Shaw Park invitational in St. Louis. A five-time state champion, Matt won the 100- and 200-yard breast at the short-course junior nationals last December.

Jordan Tucker

KANSAS CITY, KANS. > Volleyball

Jordan, a sophomore right-side hitter at Bishop Miege High, had 61 kills and 28 blocks to help the Invasion 15-Black team to a 10--0 record and the 15-and-under open division title at the USA Volleyball junior nationals. She was named the division's MVP. A starter and the only freshman on Bishop Miege's varsity last fall, Jordan helped the Stags to the Kansas Class 5A title.

Amir Ali Patterson

ENCINO, CALIF. > Track and Field

Amir, a freshman at Crespi High, won the youth boys' shot put (50' 4") and discus (154' 3") at the USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships. In the pentathlon he won the shot and placed third overall (2,382 points). Amir took first in the shot in the sub-midget division at the AAU Junior Olympics in 2007 and in the midget division in '08.

Maddie Lips

PARKER, COLO. > Rowing

Lips, a freshman at Yale, won the women's youth single scull event at the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships. In June she was chosen to row in the junior national team's women's eight boat, which won its event at the Independence Day Regatta in Philadelphia, a tune-up for the junior world championships in Racice, Czech Republic, in August.

Lawson Craddock

HOUSTON > Cycling

Craddock, a freshman at Austin Community College, won the criterium, time trial and road race in the junior men's division at the USA Cycling Road Nationals, the first time in 28 years that a rider has swept the events. In 2009 Craddock won a silver medal in the time trial at the Junior Road World Championships.

Emily Tubert

BURBANK, CALIF. > Golf

Tubert, a freshman at Arkansas, defeated Southern California junior Lisa McCloskey 3 and 2 over 36 holes to win the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. Down two after five holes, Tubert took the lead after 12 and didn't trail again. Last November, as a senior at Burroughs High, she won the California Southern Section title.
