SETH DAVIS'S Three-Pointer

Kansas may be the nation's new No. 1 team, but Pittsburgh may be the best team. The Panthers improved to 23--2 by winning two tough road games last week, at West Virginia and Villanova, even though their top player, senior guard Ashton Gibbs, was out with a strained MCL in his left knee.... It's time to pay attention to Norris Cole. Cleveland State's 6'2" senior guard turned in one of his strongest performances of the season in the Vikings' win over Youngstown State last Saturday: 41 points, 20 rebounds, nine assists and three steals.... Florida State is in trouble. The Seminoles beat Virginia to improve to 8--3 in the ACC (18--7 overall), but their best player, 6'9" junior Chris Singleton, fractured his right foot, an injury that could cost him the rest of the season.
