Kyle Singler has had a disappointing season. Duke's 6'8" senior forward was a preseason player of the year candidate, but his three-point shooting has dipped from 39.9% to 33.5%, and he shot a combined 1 for 12 from behind the arc in losses at Virginia Tech and UNC.... George Mason is closer to the bubble than people think. The Patriots are 27th in the RPI and went 16--2 in the CAA this season, but they lost in the semis of their conference tournament. They are going to sweat out Selection Sunday.... Mike Brey is my choice for national coach of the year. The Fighting Irish did not receive any Top 25 votes in the two national polls in the preseason, but now they are ranked fourth and could get a No. 1 seed if they reach the Big East tournament final.
