STEWART MANDEL'S EXTRA POINTS

Florida running back--receiver Chris Rainey is thriving in coordinator Charlie Weis's pro-style offense. The 5'9", 174-pound senior, who accounted for 811 all-purpose yards last season, had 233 in the Gators' 33--23 win over Tennessee and ranks eighth nationally in all-purpose yards (187.7 per game).... Despite losing his top two receivers (Austin Pettis and Titus Young) from last season, Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore has upped his completion percentage from 71.3 to 78.9. The 2010 Heisman finalist has somehow become even more decisive while spreading the ball to numerous targets.... Keep an eye on No. 24 Illinois. Coach Ron Zook's defense has been one of the season's early surprises. The Illini sacked Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler six times in a 17--14 win and rank 17th nationally in total defense (269.3 yards per game).
