STEWART MANDEL'S EXTRA POINTS

South Carolina's SEC East title hopes are in jeopardy after star running back Marcus Lattimore suffered a season-ending left-knee injury last Saturday. The Gamecocks (6--1, 4--1 SEC), already saddled with an inconsistent passing game, play two of their last three conference games on the road, while Georgia (5--2, 4--1) has a neutral-site contest against reeling Florida and two home games.... After being suspended for Miami's opener for violating NCAA rules, Hurricanes quarterback Jacory Harris is having a solid senior season. Plagued by interceptions throughout his career, Harris has flourished under new coach Al Golden and offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch, ranking eighth nationally in pass efficiency (170.8) while throwing just three picks.... Cal coach Jeff Tedford was once considered a QB guru for his tutelage of Aaron Rodgers, Trent Dilfer and others, but he continues to get poor production from Zach Maynard, who had four turnovers in a 30--9 loss to USC last Thursday, the Bears' sixth straight conference loss dating to last season.
