SETH DAVIS'S THREE-POINTER

UConn got an important moral victory against Syracuse last Saturday. The Huskies (17--11) couldn't quite complete their comeback from 11 points down midway through the second half, but the chemistry and toughness of Jeremy Lamb & Co. will give them a huge confidence boost headed into the Big East tournament.... The Colonial Athletic Conference should get at least two teams into the Big Dance. Drexel, which has won 17 straight, and VCU, winner of 14 of its last 15, have proved they deserve at-large bids if they don't win the conference tournament. George Mason (23--8 and ranked 88th in the RPI) also has a case.... Mississippi State is falling apart. The Bulldogs, who were once ranked No. 15, fell to Kentucky and Alabama to push their losing streak to five games. If they don't win their last two matchups against South Carolina and Arkansas, they will probably miss out on the NCAA tournament.
