40-MINUTE MEN

March 05, 2012

San Antonio is not the only team that is trying to limit minutes. Last year there were 1,884 instances of a player being on the floor at least 40 minutes in a game. This year, the league is on pace for a decline of 26.7%*. Among the teams that have bucked the trend are the Bulls and the Thunder (Kevin Durant, right, has 16), which could mean tired legs come the postseason: Last year Dallas (left) won the title with eight; the team they beat in the Finals, the Heat, had 90.
