PIERRE MCGUIRE'S IN THE CREASE

One reason the Stars are postseason contenders is the play of Mike Ribeiro. The creative center has been a playmaking virtuoso and is considered by many to be one of the league's most underrated players.... The Maple Leafs fired Ron Wilson last week and replaced him with former Ducks coach Randy Carlyle. That may cost Toronto the services of Dallas Eakins, who coaches the AHL's Toronto Marlies, the Leafs' top farm team. Most G.M.'s see Eakins as the top coach working outside the league.
