Alexi, a senior at USSA Team Academy (Park City, Utah) and a U.S. Freeskiing Rookie Team member, won the slopestyle event at the World Cup finals in Sierra Nevada, Spain, scoring 82 points to beat out the U.S.'s Julia Marino and New Zealand's Anna Wilcox. It was her first international victory, which she followed a week later with a slopestyle silver medal at the junior worlds at Chiesa in Valmalenco, Italy.

FLINT, MICH. > BASKETBALL
Monte, a 6'2½" senior point guard at Beecher High, scored a game-high 16 points and made a game-winning block with 17 seconds left to seal a 40--39 win over Laingsburg High, lifting the Bucs to their second consecutive Class C state championship. The team's leader in scoring, assists and steals in each of his four seasons, he was named Michigan's Mr. Basketball. Monte will play for Iowa State.
NEW YORK CITY > TENNIS
Rettig, a sophomore at Johns Hopkins, went 6--0 at the ITA Division III team indoor nationals in Greencastle, Ind., to lead the Blue Jays to their first team title and their first No. 1 ranking. She won three doubles and three singles matches to help Johns Hopkins overcome a 4--2 deficit against Carnegie Mellon, clinching the championship with her final singles win over Abbey Hamstra (6--2, 6--3).
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. > WRESTLING
Anthony, a senior at South Plainfield High, defeated Gary Dinmore of Hunterdon Central 4--2 to win the 138-pound state title, becoming the first unbeaten four-time champion in New Jersey history (170--0). Tied 2--2, he scored a two-point takedown with 20 seconds left in the third period for the victory. Anthony, who has also won seven straight state youth championships, will compete at Rutgers.
GAITHERSBURG, MD. > TRACK AND FIELD
Stephanie, an eighth-grader at Shady Grove Middle School competing for the Firebirds Track Club, won the 55- and the 200-meter dashes at the national youth indoor championships in Landover, Md. She tied the national record for girls ages 13 and 14 in the 55 (7.43) and broke the age-group record in the 200 with a time of 25.70. (The previous mark was 26.19.) Stephanie also finished third in the 400.
GEORGETOWN, KY. > SWIMMING
Ubellacker, a senior at MIT, won the 50-yard free and the 100 butterfly at the NCAA Division III nationals, setting a D-III record in the fly with a finish of 47.41. He also swam the butterfly for the national champion 200 medley relay team. Named swimmer of the meet, Ubellacker is the Engineers' first male swimmer to win a national title. Last summer he competed in the 50- and the 100-meter free at the Olympic Trials.
