"I get a little extra forgiveness in these long irons, and they help get my ball in the air higher, so I can stop it closer to where it lands."

BUSHNELL TOUR V3 LASER RANGEFINDER

Distance-measuring devices can help speed up play, make the game more fun and lower scores. Promising dead-on distances up to 1,000 yards, the Bushnell Tour V3 laser rangefinder delivers quick, vibrating bursts (dubbed PinSeeker with "Jolt" technology) to indicate that the laser is locked onto your target. It makes objects appear five times closer, and the lightweight, 6.6-ounce unit is legal for tournament play when Local Rule 14-3/.05 is in effect. The Tour V3 device also comes in a Slope Edition, which is not permitted for tournament play because it provides distances by compensating for elevation changes, wind and temperature. $299; bushnellgolf.com
