Lindsey, a junior at Crean Lutheran High, broke 12-time Olympic medalist Dara Torres's 28-year-old 50-yard freestyle section record at the CIF Southern Section Division 3 meet with a 22.56 in the prelims, then swam a 22.53 to win in the final. Torres's mark was 22.69. Swimming for her club team, the Orange County Waves, Lindsey won the 50-yard-free junior national title in a meet-record 22.24 last December.

RIVER VALE, N.J. > TRACK AND FIELD
Ben, a senior at Pascack Valley High, ran the 1,500 meters at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet at Widener in 3:46.97 to set a New Jersey record. He broke the 36-year-old mark by 1.03 seconds, finishing behind two runners from Villanova, where he will run next year. Last year Ben set junior class records in the indoor 800 (1:49.94) and 1,000 (2:23.56); both times ranked No. 2 on the alltime high school list.
WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. > TRACK AND FIELD
Barrett, a senior at Arizona, set a collegiate record in the high jump with a 6' 6¼" leap, the top mark in the world this year, to win her third straight outdoor Pac-12 title. The previous NCAA mark was 6'6". She won silver at the London Olympics, clearing 6'8" for the best high jump by a collegiate athlete. A five-time Division I champion, Barrett is a finalist for the Bowerman award, college track's top honor.
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. > BASEBALL
Charlie, a senior righthander at Queensbury High, tossed his third consecutive no-hitter, striking out 15 and walking four in a 2--0 win over Hudson Falls. Five days earlier he fanned 14 in a 4--0 victory over Glens Falls; five days before that he had another 14 K's in hurling the Spartans past South Glens Falls 3--0. Through Sunday, Charlie had a 7--0 record and a 0.44 ERA. He will play at Albany.
WILMINGTON, DEL. > LACROSSE
Haley, a senior midfielder at St. Mark's High, scored six times in a 15--10 loss to Wilmington Friends to break the state career goals record (329). She extended her total to 343 by season's end to top the mark set four years ago by her older sister, Courtney. The fourth girl in state history to eclipse the 300-goal mark, Haley was an All-America as a junior. She will play at Johns Hopkins, where Courtney also played.
DEL MAR, CALIF. > GOLF
Kim, a sophomore at Cal, was named the Pac-12 player of the year and a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award, which recognizes overall collegiate and amateur play. He won a school-record four tournaments this season, helping the Bruins break an NCAA single-season team victory record (11). Ranked the nation's top player by Golfweek/Sagarin and Golfstat, Kim will compete on the U.S.'s Palmer Cup team.
