The former agent of Broncos linebacker ELVIS DUMERVIL blew his client's renegotiation with Denver when the contract Magid faxed arrived six minutes after the league deadline. Dumervil fired him and signed with the Ravens for $1.5 million less in guaranteed money and a lower average salary.
• ED RUSH After Arizona coach Sean Miller was hit with a controversial technical during a 66--64 loss to UCLA in the Pac-12 tournament, allegations surfaced that Rush, the conference's director of officiating, had offered money or a free trip to any refs who T'ed up Miller. The Pac-12 announced that Rush had been joking, but he later resigned.
• LARRY SANDERS The Bucks' center cost himself six weeks on the court after he needed surgery to repair a torn thumb ligament sustained in a bar fight on Nov. 3. No charges have been filed following the incident, and Milwaukee has gone 1--8 without Sanders, who signed a four-year $44 million extension in August.
