Genshin Impact Chiori: build and materials guide
Combine style and cunning with the best Genshin Impact Chiori build and carve some good fashion sense into those who dare criticize your taste. A 5-Star character wielding Geo powers, Chiori is a sword user carrying not one but two blades to mimic the movements of scissors – that’s pretty cool.
Chiori’s Elemental Skill, Fluttering Hasode, allows her to dash forward and deal Geo Damage based on both her Attack and Defense by executing an upward sweep with her blade. You can hold the Skill button to adjust the direction of the dash. At the same time, Chiori summons her assistant automaton, Tamoto, which periodically deals Geo Damage to nearby enemies based on Chiori’s Attack and Defense. If there is another active Geo Construct while Chiori summons Tamoto or if another character summons such a Geo Construct while Tamoto is active, an additional Tamoto appears. At maximum, two versions of Tamoto can be on the field at any one time.
In this context, it’s important to know about her Passive Skill, Tailor-Made. If you press the Skill button again after using Fluttering Hasode, Chiori gets the Tapestry effect. This will automatically swap Chiori out for the next character in your team (so the order matters!) and grant the entire party the Seize the Moment effect, which makes it so that Tamoto will execute coordinated attacks whenever allies use Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks. If you press Normal Attack after using Fluttering Hasode, Chiori stays on the field and gains Tailoring, infusing her attacks with Geo for five seconds.
Another one of her Passive Skills, The Finishing Touch, boosts Chiori’s Geo Damage by 20% for 20 seconds when an ally creates a Geo Construct, so you’ll really want to team her up with other Geo characters.
Chiori’s Elemental Burst, Hiyoku: Twin Blades, deals Geo Damage in an area of effect based on her Attack and Defense.
Best Chiori weapons – Genshin Impact
Chiori’s signature weapon, Uraku Misugiri, perfectly complements her playstyle – as was to be expected. It provides her with additional Critical Hit Damage as its sub stat, as well as Normal Attack Damage and Elemental Skill Damage. When an ally deals Geo Damage, the two latter buffs are boosted even further and the wielder’s Defense increases. That, of course, provides Chiori with even more damage output, since Defense increases her DPS.
Here are the best weapons for Chiori in Genshin Impact:
- Uraku Misugiri (5-Star sword)
- Mistsplitter Reforged (5-Star sword)
- Cinnabar Spindle (4-Star sword)
- Wolf-Fang (4-Star sword)
Best Chiori artifacts – Genshin Impact
Chiori mostly fits into a Sub DPS role and there are two different artifact sets to support her in this endeavor. One is a full set of Husk of Opulent Dreams, which increases her Defense and Geo Damage. Husk of Opulent Dreams mainly does its work when Chiori herself is active.
Your second option is Golden Troupe, which leans more into off-field effectiveness, as it provides additional Elemental Skill Damage when the wearer is not actively engaged in battle. Tamoto deals Elemental Skill Damage, so this is mainly a way of buffing the automaton’s damage.
It’s up to you to decide which playstyle you want to rely on more with the two different uses of Chiori’s Tailor-Made Passive Skill being the defining aspect – if you like the swapping style, then Golden Troupe is going to be more useful, whereas Chiori using her Geo-infused Normal Attacks will be benefited more by Husk of Opulent Dreams.
You should get the following stat distribution on Chiori’s artifact set:
- Flower: HP (main stat), Critical Hit Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack %, Defense % (secondary stats)
- Plume: Attack (main stat), Critical Hit Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack %, Defense % (secondary stats)
- Sands: Attack % or Defense % (main stat), Critical Hit Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack % or Defense %, Attack or Defense (secondary stats)
- Goblet: Geo Damage % (main stat), Critical Hit Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack %, Defense % (secondary stats)
- Circlet: Critical Hit Damage or Critical Hit Rate (main stat), Critical Hit Damage or Critical Hit Rate, Attack %, Defense %, Attack or Defense (secondary stats)
Best Chiori teams – Genshin Impact
Chiori is most effective when there is at least one fellow Geo character on her team, especially if they can summon a Geo Construct. As mentioned above, her main role is going to be Sub DPS, so you’ll be swapping her in and out a lot and rely on her summon to support the Main DPS.
- Arataki Itto (Main DPS), Chiori (Sub DPS), Gorou (Support), Zhongli (Support)
Itto is going to do the main work on the field and has the ability to summon a Geo Construct, so he checks all the boxes. Gorou is a support specialist for Geo teams, so his ability to boost the team’s damage output is fantastic for this composition. Zhongli is the party’s sustain, protecting everyone with shields and contributing more Geo Constructs to ensure that Chiori can always summon two Tamotos.
Other characters you can slot into this composition are Ningguang as Main DPS and Albedo as Support.
If you don’t want to play a Geo-only team, then don’t worry: This is certainly not the optimal way of using her, but it’s not totally out of the question. Chiori can serve as Navia’s Sub DPS, though since the Spina di Rosula leader can’t summon any Geo Constructs, this somewhat weakens the seamstress’ effectiveness.
Alternatively, you can slot Chiori and Zhongli/Albedo into any team composition with space for Geo units, such as an Anemo core consisting of Xiao and Xianyun. This has the added benefit of buffing Chiori’s Plunging Attacks following her Skill’s upward sweep.
Chiori ascension materials – Genshin Impact
You’ll want to quickly raise Chiori’s level when you finally pull her, which means that you’ll need to farm her ascension materials. You’ll also require some material to upgrade her talents.
Here’s what you need to get Chiori to level 90:
- Prithiva Topaz Sliver x1
- Prithiva Topaz Fragment x9
- Prithiva Topaz Chunk x9
- Prithiva Topaz Gemstone x6
- Spectral Husk x18
- Spectral Heart x30
- Spectral Nucleus x36
- Dendrobium x168
- Artificed Spare Clockwork Component (Coppelia) x46
- Mora x2,092,530
Prithiva Topaz can be obtained from any Geo-affiliated boss on the world map, such as the Geo Hypostasis in Liyue. Spectral Husks, Hearts, Nuclei are drops from the specters found on some islands in Inazuma, especially Watatsumi Island. For Artificed Spare Clockwork Component (Coppelia), you’ll need to defeat Coppelia near the Opera Epiclese in Fontaine.
Dendrobium can be found on the island chain located between Narukami and Watatsumi with an especially high concentration on Nazuchi Beach. The best way to earn more Mora in the game is to farm Golden Ley Line Blossoms.
Here’s what you need to upgrade all of Chiori’s talents to their maximum level:
- Spectral Husk x18
- Spectral Heart x66
- Spectral Nucleus x93
- Teachings of Light x9
- Guide to Light x63
- Philosophies of Light x114
- Lightless Silk String x18
- Crown of Insight x3

For the materials already mentioned, check above. You’ll need to visit the Violet Court Domain on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday to farm Scrolls of Light. Lightless Silk String is a boss item only dropped by the All-Devouring Narwhal in Fontaine, so you’ll need to confront that monster again and again.
Crowns of Insight are a rare item gained from time-limited events or regional reward mechanics like the Tree of Dreams in Sumeru, the Grand Narukami Shrine in Inazuma, or the Fountain of Lucine in Fontaine.
