Hogwarts Legacy Gear Slots Full – how to get more Gear Slots
In Hogwarts Legacy you will be picking up an absurd amount of gear – much of it useless – and it will quickly take up space in your Gear Slots. You only have a limited amount of Gear Slots, and once they’re full, you’re prevented from picking up any new gear whatsoever. This means you’ll either need to destroy less valuable items, or sell excess gear at a shop. Either choice is a sensible decision when you’re in a pinch.
But there is an even better solution: getting more Gear Slots. When your Gear Slots are full, what better solution is there than getting more of them? You can in fact increase your number of Gear Slots in your Inventory in Hogwarts Legacy, and in this guide we’re going to break down everything you need to know.
Make sure to read through our other Hogwarts Legacy guides for everything you need to know about the game, including puzzle solutions, item locations, and more.
“Your Gear Slots are full” – Hogwarts Legacy
This is the message all budding witches and wizards fear: “Your Gear Slots are full.” If you fill up on gear in Hogwarts Legacy, then you can’t pick up any new items.
If you can’t make your way to a shop and you’re desperate to get a quest reward, make sure to just destroy an item in your gear inventory, and then collect your reward. Trust us on this: an item that’s below your level will not be useful long-term.
How to get more Gear Slots – Hogwarts Legacy
You can in fact get more Gear Slots in Hogwarts Legacy, and all you need to do is complete Merlin Trials. Merlin Trials are marked by a round leaf icon on the map, and completing each trial will add up in your Challenges menu.
Completing Merlin Trials will unlock extra Gear Slots for your Gear Inventory, so they’re worth attempting when you come across them.
Gear Storage – Hogwarts Legacy
Unfortunately, there is no Gear Storage in Hogwarts Legacy, so you can’t store items you’ve taken a liking to. However, this isn’t necessary anyway, as the appearance of every item you pick up is added to your Appearance menu.
If you like how an item looks, you can set your gear to look like that item at all times, regardless of what you actually have equipped for stats. Change your Appearance, simply press Square/X on PlayStation/Xbox when hovering over the gear slot you want to change the appearance of.
You can even press Triangle/Y on your cloak to put up or remove your hood, which will hide your hat in the process.
How to get more Mallowsweet – Hogwarts Legacy
One thing you’ll need more of in order to complete Merlin Trials is Mallowsweet. Mallowsweet is a leaf of some kind, and using it will activate a Merlin Trial.
The best way to get Mallowsweet is by growing it in the Room of Requirement, but you can also buy it from select merchants and vendors across the world.
