Honkai: Star Rail – Clara build and ascension guide
Have Mr. Svarog protect you with the best Honkai: Star Rail Clara build and unleash devastating counters against anyone daring to hurt you. Clara is a small and fragile looking girl with a tender heart, though she follows the Path of The Destruction and deals Physical DMG – mainly thanks to the aforementioned Mr. Svarog, her beefy robot companion.
Table of Contents
Clara’s Skill, Svarog Watches Over You, deals Physical DMG to all enemies based on her ATK, which is increased if an enemy has the Mark of Counter. This status is applied by her Talent, Because We’re Family. It reduces all incoming damage and allows Svarog to mark any enemy attacking Clara, retaliating against them with a Physical DMG attack that’s based on Clara’s ATK stat. Marks of Counter are removed only after targets have been hit by Clara’s Skill.
Her Ultimate, Promise, Not Command, further emphasizes this counter-based, tanky playstyle: It boosts her damage reduction and taunts enemies for two turns, increasing the chance of Clara being attacked. In addition, Svarog’s protection is extended to all other team members, allowing him to strike back at enemies when they’ve been hit. Following the Ultimate, the next to attacks made by Svarog will be enhanced, dealing Physical DMG to the primary target as well as any adjacent targets.
Clara’s Eidolon Levels, which are increased by getting duplicates of her, are quite solid as well: Level 1 allows Marks of Counter to stay even after an enemy has been targeted with the Skill, Levels 2 and 4 boost Clara’s ATK and damage resistance further, and Level 6 gives Svarog a 50% chance of launching counters after allies have been hit even without the Ultimate.
Honkai: Star Rail – Clara: best Light Cones
Clara has a signature Light Cone in Honkai: Star Rail, which is called Something Irreplaceable. It increases the wearer’s ATK substantially and allows them to regenerate HP based on that stat whenever they are hit or defeat an enemy. In addition, they deal additional damage for one turn if one of these conditions is met.
Clara’s damage output is based on ATK and she’ll be a prime target for enemies, so having a bit of regeneration of her own will greatly benefit her. Yunli’s Dance at Sunset, which is geared for a similar playstyle, is even more potent in terms of buffing Clara’s DPS, though it does so at the cost of survivability.
Best Light Cones for Clara:
- Something Irreplaceable (5-Star)
- Dance at Sunset (5-Star)
- The Unreachable Side (5-Star)
- On the Fall of an Aeon (5-Star)
- The Moles Welcome You (4-Star)
- Ninja Record: Sound Hunt (4-Star)
- Nowhere to Run (4-Star)
Honkai: Star Rail – Clara: best Relics
All of Clara and Svraog’s moves deal Physical DMG and depend on her ATK stat, so it’s pretty clear what you have to concentrate on when it comes to her Relics. Clara is one of the few units that want to be slower than the enemy, since the majority of her damage comes from counters, so you won’t need to worry about SPD. CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG have a much higher priority.
Effect RES or HP are the best filler stats for her, as they enhance her survivability and prevent her from being affected by status effects that might hinder her from executing counters.
Best Relic Sets for Clara:
- The Ashblazing Grand Duke (4) – +20% follow-up attack damage, +6% Attack each time the wearer uses a follow-up attack to deal damage. This effect lasts three turns and can stack up to eight times. It's removed the next time the wearer uses a follow-up attack.
- Champion of Streetwise Boxing (4) – +10% Physical Damage, +5% Attack after the wearer attacks or is hit (can stack up to five times).
Best Planar Ornaments for Clara:
- Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves (2) – +5% follow-up attack damage for the wielder whenever a stack of Merit is gained, up to five times. Merit is obtained by allies making follow-up attack attacks; +25% Critical Hit Damage for the wearer upon reaching five stacks of Merit.
- Inert Salsotto (2) – +8% Critical Hit Rate, +15% follow-up attack and Ultimate Damage when the wearer’s Critical Hit Rate surpasses 50%.
Note: Use Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves only as part of a follow-up attack team.

Honkai: Star Rail – Clara: best teams
A team around Clara should have a healer or shielder to keep her healthy. Buffs to ATK and follow-up attacks in particular will help her maximize her damage as well.
- Clara (Main DPS), Topaz (Sub DPS), Robin (Support), Aventurine (Support)
This follow-up attack team can easily maximize the benefits gained from Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves, and provides a variety of related buffs to each other. Clara and Topaz will be this party’s main damage dealers with Robin providing offensive boosts and Aventurine being a reliable shielder.
Sparkle, Tingyun, and Bronya are all fantastic support characters to accompany Clara. March 7th (Preservation) offers great synergy as well, being able to shield Clara and add to her taunt value, ensuring a steady stream of attacks coming her way.
