Scarlet & Violet: All Paldea Pokemon revealed so far
A brand new Pokémon generation is mere days away from launch, and we’ve already seen the announcement of dozens of amazing critters. This is set to be one of the biggest Pokémon generations yet, both in terms of new features, and the size of the new Paldea region.
In this list we’re breaking down all of the currently officially announced monsters that we’re due to see in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. We should expect dozens more new monsters to appear in the full game, but for now these are all of the creatures that have been shown to us through official channels. Yes, Scarlet & Violet leaks are out in the wild, and you should avoid them at all costs. But for now, these are the monsters you should get familiar with ahead of the launch of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet and Pokémon generation 9.
Recently, Gimmighoul was revealed in Pokémon Go.
All Paldea Pokémon
Sprigatito
Sprigatito is described as the Grass cat Pokémon, and honestly, that’s just perfect. This furry friend can use photosynthesis through its fur.
Fuecoco
This Fire-type crocodile is adorable, if a bit dumb. Fans are already eager to see its fully evolved form.
Quaxly
This smart duck is incredible. Look at this distinguished gentleman! Yes, very distinguished.
Koraidon
A brand new legendary Pokémon that you’ll be riding aboard on your adventure in Pokémon Scarlet.
Miraridon
Miraidon is Violet’s box legendary, and this mon comes equipped with jets. Actual jets. My childhood Pokémon designs became real at last.
Cyclizar
Likely the pre-evolution of the box legendary Pokémon, Cyclizar is like, well, it’s a bit like a motorcycle. This Dragon/Normal-type has the Shed Tail attack, which allows it to swap with a benched monster, a bit like Abra’s signature Teleport.
Armarouge
Another version-exclusive legendary, this monster has the Flash Fire ability, raising attack stat if hit by a fire-type move. Armor Cannon is also a strong Fire-type attack that can lower the defense stat of creatures that get hit by it.
Ceruledge
The Shadow to Armarouge’s Sonic, Ceruledge is a Fire/Ghost-type monster, and has ghostly blade on the ends of its arms. It’s incredibly imposing, and likely the edgy gamer’s monster of choice. You know who you are.
Lechonk
Peak character design. Lechonk is a pig with eyeliner, essentially. It looks delicious.
Pawmi
A new Pikachu competitor, Pawmi is another electric rodent, but is it cuter than Pikachu? It’s close.
Smoliv
It’s a small olive. Well done to all involved.
Cetitan
A literal land whale, complete with legs and powerful Ice-type abilities, on top of Thick Fat, which reduces the effectiveness of Fire-type attacks. This monster could make a big impact on the future meta.
Fidough
It’s a bread dog. Some of these Pokémon designs and names are truly incredible.
Grafaiai
Some are less incredible, and Grafaiai is a little graffiti monkey. It looks like a terrible little gremlin. That is all.
Klawf
This isn’t related to Krabby or Kingler, and this crab creature is actually a Rock-type. Klawf can appear in the game in a new titan form, and yes, you should be excited to see that.
Wiglett
It’s like Diglett, but it wiggles, I guess. It’s apparently unrelated to Diglett, despite the appearance and where it chooses to live. Darwin would have something to say about this.
Paldean Wooper
The first confirmed regional Pokémon, Paldean Wooper is an adorable take on a Johto classic. This Pokémon has the powerful Poison/Ground-type combo, and we can’t wait to see Paldean Quagsire, or potentially an entirely new evolution.
Farigiraf
Girafarig, another beloved gen-2 monster, is getting a new evolved form, where its two finally combine into one. We can only assume that this has made this creature smarter than ever, even if the lack of a tail is going to send things off balance.
Bellibolt
The new Electric-type Gym Leader Iono is partnered up with Bellibolt. This frog-like creature probably stores electricity in its stomach, or something. I find it terrifying.
Greavard
In the reveal trailer for Greavard, we literally saw it kill a person. That’s typical Ghost-type behavior, honestly. At least it’s cute.
Gimmighoul
This is what we in the business call a “scrimblo bimblo.” It’s yet another Ghost-type, but gosh it’s cute. It uses gold to lure people towards it. Smart.
Great Tusk
The first of two Pokémon revealed during the final trailer, Iron Tusks is presumed to be an evolution of Donphan, as both this and its counterpart share similar features. It will be exclusive to Pokémon Scarlet and represents the "past", following the themes of these games.
Iron Treads
The second of Donphan's branching evolutions, Iron Tread represents the future, offering a much more mechanical look. It will be exclusive to Pokémon Violet.
Unnamed engine Pokémon
We just don’t know what this is. It takes pride of place on Team Star’s Starmobile, and certainly looks like a Pokémon, but we haven’t been given a name yet. It looks a lot like a Steel-type, but that’s all we can say as far as speculation goes until we play the game ourselves.
