Love them or hate them, Elite Raids are here to stay in Pokémon Go and the Rising Heroes season features two of them. Both Regidrago and Regileki will debut over the next couple of weeks as bosses in Elite Raids, and no one knows if there will be another way to get access to them in the future. If you want to be sure to complete your Pokédex and catch the two members of the Regi collective, you’ll have to participate in the in-person Elite Raids held during the current season.

Regidrago is up first, coming to the game in Elite Raids held on March 11, 2023, at 11am, 2pm, and 5pm local time. Elite Raid Eggs show up 24 hours before they hatch, enabling you to plan out where you want to do the raid. You’ll need to be quick, however, because once an Elite Raid Boss has hatched, they’ll only stick around for 30 minutes.

This Elite Raid event is best enjoyed with good preparation, then. Here are the best counters to Regidrago in Pokémon Go.

Niantic

Regidrago is a pure Dragon-type, making it equally vulnerable to moves of the Dragon-, Ice-, and Fairy-types.

However, as you can see from our list of recommendations above, fellow draconic creatures make for the best counters due to their superior stats and damage output compared to representatives of other types. There are also plenty of mega evolutions to support a raid team consisting of Dragon-types, which is a further advantage for any attackers.

Players around level 40 should aim to put together raid parties of at least three trainers, who all have Pokémon on that level from our list of top counters.

Make sure you use your megas one by one to maximize the time you can all benefit from the damage boost they provide – do not send all mega evolutions out at the same time, as that would be a massive waste of damage potential. Since these are in-person only events, you'll be able to coordinate this easily.
