The fourth Digital Tabletop Fest is currently running on Steam, offering fantastic deals on many role-playing games as well as titles from franchises that are based from tabletop experiences – such as Warhammer 40,000.

Though it has fewer aliens and less genocide than Games Workshop’s setting, the universally acclaimed CRPG Disco Elysium is no less dystopian and grimdark than anything from 40k. In the ongoing sale, Disco Elysium – The Final Cut is off by 75% on Steam, making it cheaper to pick up than a movie ticket. If you want to take advantage of this discount, however, you’ll need to be quick, as this sale will only last for a few more hours on March 11, 2024.

Disco Elysium
If you've been waiting for a chance to pick up Disco Elysium, you should act quickly :: ZA/UM

A one of its kind experience from the same genre as Baldur’s Gate 3, Disco Elysium is generally considered to be one of the best video games ever made thanks to its mix of characters, story, and themes.

Unfortunately, it looks like we won’t ever see a worthy sequel to the CRPG, as internal trouble at developer ZA/UM has led to the ousting of every creative mind behind Disco Elysium ever since the game was released. Only recently, ZA/UM laid off the last writer to have worked on the game and canceled the project he had been working on.

Speaking to GLHF, said writer estimated that ZA/UM “will forever stay a one-game studio. The individuals of ZA/UM, the cultural movement, have left the corporate body behind like the King Cobra slithering out of its dead skin.” He did, however, have a hopeful message for fans of Disco Elysium as well: “Remember, we promised: Un jour je serai de retour près de toi.” (“One day I'll be by your side again.”)

In the meantime, other CRPGs must fill the void. Which brings us back to Warhammer 40,000, as Owlcat’s CRPG Rogue Trader is off by 20% on Steam for the remainder of Digital Tabletop Fest as well, making it the perfect timing to pick up the title in the wake of its biggest update so far.
