Update 1.6 for Honkai: Star Rail, which is set to be released on December 27, 2023, will add a new Trace and Light Cone material that can be substituted for Path-specific resources if you’re short on any. This brand-new and universal material will be called Tears of Dreams and will be quite a useful resource to stock up on, as it’ll enable you to upgrade character Traces and Light Cones much faster and with less farming. You’ll be able to transform Tears of Dreams into whichever material you need at the moment, though rarer resources will require more of it.

Aside from the fact that we’ll be given some Tears of Dreams from the developers at the start of version 1.6, it has not been revealed how we’ll acquire more of it. Perhaps the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail 1.6 livestream will provide some additional details on this matter.

Topaz is shelling out money to bring us additional quality of life improvements / HoYoverse

This isn’t the only change coming up for the popular space RPG, which won Best Mobile Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2023.

HoYoverse confirmed that previously discussed changes to Relic enhancement and other Relic-related quality of life improvements would launch with update 2.0, which is expected to arrive in February 2024. Newly confirmed is that these changes will include the ability to choose between receiving Lost Gold Fragments and Relic Remains when salvaging items.

A change is coming to Golden Calyxes as well with update 2.0: In addition to their current bounty, they’ll drop enemy materials used for upgrading characters, Traces, and Light Cones, giving you another source of income for these resources aside from Daily Assignments and battle loot. For this reason, six additional Golden Calyxes will be added to the Xianzhou Luofu and Penacony.

Finally, update 2.0 will bring about a refresh of the Light Cones available through the Forgotten Hall, though we don’t yet know which weapons will come to this shop.

Black Swan has been revealed as the first figure to join the Honkai: Star Rail characters in the 2.0 version.
