Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is coming to PC
EA’s success with mobile games has been middling at best – its recent Lord of the Rings title quickly ran out of steam and even a powerhouse brand like Apex Legends couldn’t sustain its mobile version. Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has been a shining exception to this, retaining its popularity over a long period of time and bringing in consistent revenue since its launch all the way back in 2015.
Almost ten years after its release, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is officially coming to PC. It will feature cross-save functionality, improved performance and visuals, and a PC-adjusted layout. Keyboard and mouse will naturally be supported as a control scheme and you’ll even be able to remap keys to your liking. Gamepad support, however, is not planned for now.
Players can link their mobile account to their EA account upon first launching the PC version, gaining access to all their progress from the original version of the game. Of course, if anyone fancies a fresh start, no one’s stopping them either. Future updates will be launched for both games simultaneously, according to Game Informer, which spoke to the developers.
In this tactical RPG, players collect characters from the Star Wars universe, upgrade them, and form powerful team compositions to tackle turn-based combat challenges. Though it won’t offer the most in-depth experience to seasoned gamers, it might be a nice game to run on the side from time to time – and after such a long time on the market already, there is plenty of content available for players to check out.
A closed beta test for the PC version of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes will take place soon and you can already sign up on the official website.
EA recently canceled a Star Wars shooter in development at Respawn Entertainment, though work on a strategy game as well as Star Wars Jedi 3 continues.
