Mercury acquire All-Star Bone from Sun for Williams

PHOENIX (AP) The Phoenix Mercury acquired All-Star forward Kelsey Bone from the Connecticut Sun on Saturday for rookie guard Courtney Williams and the rights to second-round draft pick Jillian Alleyne.

The Sun also received San Antonio's 2017 second-round pick, acquired by the Mercury earlier this season.

The 6-foot-4 Bone was an All-Star and the WNBA's most-improved player last season after averaging 15.4 points and 6.3 rebounds. The fifth overall pick in the 2013 WNBA draft by New York, she was Connecticut's second-leading scorer this season with 12.5 points per game and averaged 4 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

Williams was the eighth overall pick in the 2016 draft and appeared in six games.

Phoenix earlier acquired forward Angelica Robinson in a trade with Seattle.
