UConn coach Geno Auriemma wins 900th game
Connecticut Huskies women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma won his 900th game on Tuesday, coaching No. 2 UConn to a 96-36 victory over Cincinnati.
Auriemma is the sixth coach to reach 900 victories.
Auriemma became the fastest coach to reach the milestone. His 900-134 record marks the highest win percentage (0.870) of any coach in women's college basketball history.
Auriemma, who became UConn's head coach prior to the 1985-86 season, has led the program to nine national titles, 15 Final Four appearances and four undefeated seasons.
Former Tennessee coach Pat Summitt leads all coaches with 1,098 wins in 38 seasons as the Volunteers' coach.
