PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) Kahleah Copper scored 24 points to lead No. 20 Rutgers over Indiana 71-60 on Sunday.
Rutgers finished tied for fourth with No. 25 Northwestern in its first season in the Big Ten, six games behind fellow conference newcomer No. 5 Maryland.
Copper was 10 of 14 from the floor with seven rebounds for Rutgers (21-8, 12-6). Betnijah Laney had 18 points and 13 rebounds while Tyler Sciafe added 16 points.
Rutgers got out quickly, building a 17-8 lead over the first eight minutes. Indiana used a 13-0 run to capture the lead, but Rutgers closed the half with a 13-5 run - including a three-point play and jumper from Laney - and led 30-26 at the break.
The Scarlet Knights opened the second half with an 11-4 run and led by as many as 18 cruising to the win.
Tyra Buss led Indiana (14-15, 4-14) with 14 points. Amanda Cahill added 11 points.
