Louisville to face Cal, WKU and Kentucky in non-league play

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) The Louisville women's basketball team will open the season against Cal in a nonconference schedule featuring games against 10 schools that reached the postseason.

The Cardinals' schedule includes games at in-state rivals Western Kentucky (Nov. 21) and Kentucky (Dec. 10) and a Big Ten/ACC Challenge matchup at Michigan State on Dec. 3. Louisville also will compete in the Gulf Coast Showcase, with a possible meeting with NCAA Tournament participant LSU.

First up is Cal on Nov. 15 as the Cardinals seek a third straight win against the Bears. Their home schedule includes Valparaiso (Dec. 5); IUPUI (Dec. 13); Dartmouth (Dec. 15); UT-Martin (Dec. 28) and South Florida (Feb. 15).

Louisville, which advanced to the Sweet 16 last season, also plays at Tennessee Tech (Dec. 18) and College of Charleston (Dec. 20).
