COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Ohio State said Tuesday that freshmen Tori McCoy and Kiara Lewis intend to transfer.
McCoy, a 6-foot-4 forward, and Lewis, a 5-foot-8 guard, were key players in Ohio State's Sweet 16 run and expected to start next season. The school did not offer information about why the players are transferring.
McCoy played in all 35 games, averaging 8.1 points and 4.9 rebounds. Lewis also played in every game, averaging 6.7 points.
The Buckeyes also will have to replace graduating senior forward Shayla Cooper. The team again will be anchored by All-American guard Kelsey Mitchell, who decided to return for her senior season.
Ohio State finished 28-7 and lost to Notre Dame in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
