A Trade The Warriors And Pelicans Must Consider

I believe the Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans should consider a trade.

Brandon Ingram is one of the most talented forwards in the NBA and is in his fifth season playing for the New Orleans Pelicans

He made the All-Star Game in 2020, but the Pelicans have only been able to reach the playoffs one time during his tenure with the franchise.

Right now, they are the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 25-18 record in 43 games.

However, I believe it could be a time for a change, and the Golden State Warriors would be the perfect trade partner.

Why?

The Warriors already have an established core led by Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson that has won four titles over the previous nine seasons.

That said, they are in need of a significant addition to turn their season around.

Currently, the Warriors are the 12th seed in the Western Conference with an 18-22 record in their first 40 games.

Ingram would be able to be inserted into the starting lineup and only have to focus on scoring, which would take a massive offensive load off of Curry's shoulders.

The former Duke star is averaging 21.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists per contest while shooting 48.8% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point range.

The Warriors could send the Pelicans Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga in the hypothetical deal.

Wiggins would be an immediate replacement for Ingram, and Kuminga gives them a prospect with big potential that they can develop (he is only 21 years old).
