Elite 3-Point Shooter Is Still An NBA Free Agent

Joe Harris, who has played for the Nets, Cavs and Pistons, is still a free agent.

Joe Harris has played in 16 games this season (for the Detroit Pistons), but he was waived earlier this month.

He did not get claimed, so he is now an unrestricted free agent who is available to be signed by any team in the league.

Harris had only been averaging 2.4 points per contest in limited playing time, but just a few years ago, he was among the best role players in the league.

Harris was the 33rd pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and played in 56 regular season games (and six playoff games) for the franchise over part of two seasons.

Early on, he looked like he would have a short NBA career.

That said, Harris joined the Brooklyn Nets in 2016-17 and became one of the best shooters in the league.

During the 2021 season, the 32-year-old averaged an impressive 14.1 points per contest while shooting 50.5% from the field and 47.5% from the three-point range in 69 games (65 starts).

Over his ten seasons with the Nets, Cavs and Pistons, Harris has career averages of 10.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest while shooting 47.9% from the field and 43.6% from the three-point range in 504 regular season games.

He's also appeared in 29 NBA playoff games (19 starts)

Harris would be a great shooter for a team to sign to their bench and he also has experience playing with superstars such as LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
