Rockets And Pistons Reportedly Had Trade Discussions

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, the Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets have had trade talks.

On Tuesday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder made a trade.

The Rockets acquired two-time NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo (and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl) as part of the deal.

Following the news, Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports reported that the Rockets have also had trade discussions with the Detroit Pistons for Alec Burks.

Burks and Oladipo have salaries that would make a trade very easy to complete.

Via Fischer's article on Yahoo! Sports: "Can Oladipo net the Rockets something more? Houston has held trade discussions with Detroit regarding Alec Burks, league sources told Yahoo Sports, and the veteran ball-handler holds a $10.5 million salary that’s nearly a direct match."

Burks is coming off his first season playing for the Pistons, and he averaged 12.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 43.6% from the field and 41.4% from the three-point range in 51 games.

The Pistons were the worst team in the league (17-65), but Burks proved he is still a reliable veteran.

Meanwhile, Oladipo played 42 games with the Miami Heat last season and averaged 10.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 39.7% from the field and 33.0% from the three-point range.

However, the former Indiana star got injured before the NBA playoffs.

As for the Rockets, they were the 14th seed in the Western Conference with a 22-60 record last season.

However, the team made many additions over the offseason, such as Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks.
