On Tuesday evening, the Golden State Warriors lost to the Phoenix Suns (in Arizona) by a score of 119-116.

Several of the Warriors' best players struggled, as Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney combined to score just ten points.

Thompson finished his night with seven points and five rebounds while shooting 2/10 from the field and 1/8 from the three-point range in 27 minutes of playing time.

Following the game (on Wednesday), Shams Charania (on FanDuel's Run It Back) reported an update on Thompson's future.

The four-time NBA Champion will become a free agent this summer.

Charania Via Run It Back: "His future's been in question. We talked about on the eve of the season they're not close on a contract extension when they were discussing one before the start of the season. I'm told that the Warriors offered a deal, two years in the range of 48 million dollars in an extension to Klay Thompson before the season, and now there's no deal. We're into the season. He's gonna play it out. They're gonna play it out."

Thompson is now averaging 15.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 39.7% from the field and 34.3% from the three-point range in 22 games.

The Warriors fell to 10-13 in their first 23 games, which has them as the 11th seed in the Western Conference.

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game losing streak.

Following the Suns, the Warriors will play their next game on Thursday when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers.
