Toronto Raptors Reportedly Interested In 7x NBA All-Star

According to Marc Stein of The SteinLine, the Toronto Raptors are interested in Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers).

Damian Lillard is one of the best players in the NBA and has been arguably the top point guard in the league at different points over the previous eight seasons.

This past year, the former Weber State star averaged a sensational 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists per contest while shooting 46.3% from the field and 37.1% from the three-point range.

However, the Trail Blazers missed the NBA playoffs for the second straight year.

Lillard has spent his entire 11-year career playing for Portland, but this offseason, he reportedly requested a trade from the franchise.

In addition, Lillard reportedly wants to be sent to the Miami Heat.

That said, the Trail Blazers can trade Lillard anywhere because he is still under contract for two more seasons.

On Sunday, Marc Stein of The SteinLine reported that the Toronto Raptors have an interest in Lillard.

Via Stein's article on The SteinLine: "The Toronto Raptors have convinced numerous teams around the league that their interest in trading for Lillard is genuine."

In 2018, the Raptors took a risk by trading for Kawhi Leonard.

Despite playing just one season in Toronto, Leonard led the Raptors to the 2019 NBA Championship over Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

This past year, the Raptors were the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 41-41 record.

However, they lost to the Chicago Bulls in the play-in tournament, so they missed the NBA playoffs.

As for Lillard, his career averages are 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.0 steals per contest.
