At this point in the season, everyone knows the Sacramento Kings are one of the NBA's most unpredictable teams. From beating the best squads in the league to blowing 20-point leads to lesser opponents, it's impossible to say whether the Kings are playoff contenders or pretenders.

The Kings have multiple wins against some of the top seeds such as the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves, but have fallen short to some of the Eastern Conference's worst in the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls. This team is capable of just about anything, and the most recent NBA.com power rankings rank the Kings accordingly.

Kings place 12th in newest NBA Power Rankings.

Falling two spots from 10th place the week before, a back-and-forth stretch of games saw Sacramento take a tumble in the newest list. Despite some massive performances from star players Domantas Sabonis and De'Aaron Fox, it just wasn't enough to make up for a couple of detrimental losses.

Those losses are exactly why the Kings fell, especially since they both took place while trying to defend the Golden1 Center. In the rankings written before Sacramento's recent win over the Milwaukee Bucks, writer John Schuhmann explains that the Kings' starting lineup had been outscored by 22 points in their three previous games.

On top of that, three point shooting was a struggle for SacTown last week. Last week, the Kings had the worst three-point percentage in the entire league, shooting an abysmal 29.5% as a team from beyond the arc. Bad shooting along with heavy turnovers led to multiple bad losses, and is something that Mike Brown's squad will look to clean up heading into the final stretch.

Sacramento will remain at home to take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night in an important game to determine the Western Conference rankings.
