Tennessee Volunteers defensive lineman Jayson Jenkins entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Tennessee defensive lineman Jayson Jenkins entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal on Monday morning. The New Jersey native was a part of Tennessee's 2022 recruiting class and appeared in five games across his two seasons with the team. He registered six tackles with the Vols and was having a strong spring.
The Vols have an incredible defensive front, going eight to nine bodies deep. They also have many veterans and transfers expecting snaps this fall, so there will likely be some spring departures. Defensive line coach Rodney Garner is one of the top position coaches in college football and has produced various NFL draft picks over decades of coaching in the SEC.
Edge rusher James Pearce Jr. will lead Tennessee this season, as he led the SEC in sacks last year. He's expected to be one of the top players in the sport and a name to know for the 2025 NFL Draft; several outlets have already projected him at No. 1 overall.
