FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Fans now have to wait two fewer days for the Arkansas football season to start. The Razorbacks will now kick off their season 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 inside War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions. The game will be nationally televised on ESPNU.

The game had been originally scheduled for Aug. 31. This will be the first time since 2017 that the Hogs will open the season on Thursday night since the Razorbacks took down Florida A&M 49-7 at War Memorial behind 120 rushing yards from Chase Hayden.

Coach Sam Pittman will look to repeat history. The only other time the Hogs faced the Golden Lions, Arkansas won 45-3 with KJ Jefferson throwing for four touchdowns. Pittman went on to have his most successful season as coach of the Hogs with nine wins, capping the year with a win against Penn State in the Outback Bowl.

Fans can get their first look at the initial 2024 squad in the Red-White game noon Saturday inside Donald W. Reynolds Stadium. The event is free and open to the public and will be streamed on SEC Network+.
