Baylor Makes Cut for SI Hoops 2023 Recruiting Rankings

Baylor Bears men's basketball continues to build its future while dominating opponents in the present.

Baylor Bears men's basketball is in the midst of a 3-0 start to the 2022-23 season after beating the first three opponents of the campaign with ease.

But while the present for Baylor remains bright, the program's future brings just as much optimism.

And the best part? There's still more work to do.

Sports Illustrated released its recruiting rankings for the class of 2023 on Thursday and has Baylor's incoming freshman class next season ranked at No. 21 out of 25 programs.

The Bears have landed a commitment from Link Academy (Branson, MO) guard Ja'Kobe Walter in June while Sunrise Christian (Wichita, KS) guard Miro Little has already officially signed his letter of intent. As of now, these are the only two players for the team in the class of 2023.

Here's what SI had to say:

"Scott Drew landed the best two-way perimeter prospect in the class in Walter, who possesses elite athleticism and innate toughness on both ends of the floor. Little is a versatile playmaker who scores efficiently all over the floor."

The Bears already have a loaded roster that is seventh in the country in points per game (99.7) this season. But No. 5 Baylor has its toughest matchup at this point in the season Friday, as the Bears will take on the No. 16 Virginia Cavaliers in at the Continental Tire Main Event in Las Vegas. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT.
